Kate decided to book me for her wedding shortly after seeing I had quotes from The Office on my website. She and Aaron met at work and bonded over Michael J. Scott-isms until one day Aaron asked if Kate, “Would you like to form an alliance with me?” and Kate said, “Absolutely I do.” Okay, maybe it didn’t go quite like that but YOU GET THE IDEA. These are my kind of people, ya’ll. We decided to forgo a traditional engagement session and do a special Antietam Battlefield family session!

Out of a big four-door white truck popped Kate’s two cuties, Cole + Natalie. Cole told me all about how school was out for Summer and he’s officially a third grader! He loves reading but not so much ice-cream. I just loved his warm, red hair and soft freckles painted across his cheeks. And Nat, with her long curly blonde hair and full-of-life sparkly blue eyes. She’s got that second-born wild child vibe and I dig it, man. A tender hug between siblings quickly turns into a wrestling match and I am all too familiar with this situation. She’s her mama’s mini me and kept me on my toes!

We played, we laughed, we raced and we promised ice cream at the end (but something different for Cole, okay?). All-in-all, good—good day. I can’t wait to document these four officially become family!
