Dillon & Jennifer’s Private Estate Wedding in Hedgesville, WV

Dillon & Jennifer said “I do” under the tree shade of Dillon’s family’s private estate. A private estate wedding sounds so fancy, and by all means, it was an absolutely beautiful home with stunning grounds. But it still had the most homey feel and I credit that to the family that welcomed me there. From the moment I pulled up the gravel drive, Dillon’s mom met me with a smile and directed me to the bridal suite aka a beautiful bedroom where bustling bridesmaids circled around around their bestie, Jennifer, as she had her hair and makeup done. (Pro tip for brides-to-be: Always schedule hair and makeup an hour earlier than you think you’ll need. If any part of the day gets behind, it’s usually HMU).

While Jennifer got final touches done before their first look, I walked back down the beautiful staircase to the groomsmen to photograph Dillon & some of his main men getting ready. We tied a few ties, I helped pin some boutonnieres (a photographer’s job doesn’t end at photos!) and we took a few GQ shots of Dillon before I walked him to his special place to await his bride.

They had the sweetest first look on the front lawn followed by the signing of the ketubah. We followed it up with extra bride & groom portraits prior to the ceremony…just another bonus to a first look!

About 30 minutes prior to the ceremony, one of the groomsmen ripped his pants from buttocks to waistband. He tells me it’s not the first time this has happened in his times as a groomsman and suggests “it’s all the cake”. Yes, yes, too much cake, sir. 🤣 I’m sure we mean two different things. But he’s happy to have pants to last him through the ceremony.

Onward and upward! After a beautiful ceremony under the shade trees in the back yard, Dillon & Jennifer sealed the deal with a kiss! And of course, the breaking of the glass followed by a hardy “Mazel Tov!” from the crowd.

After some gorgeous sunset photos as husband and wife, friends and family joined together in the custom reception space that was crafted specially for their big day. Wait until you see the space, it’s stunning!

One of my favorite moments of the whole evening was of course, watching them lifted above their favorite people dancing the hora! So much fun and joy all-day, my favorite kind of wedding days.

So keep scrolling so you can see their big day unfold for yourself. 🙂
